It turns out we are biologically wired to focus on and communicate about what to be afraid of. Add in the distorting effects of mass communication on our poor hunter-gatherer brains, and the result is that we fear far more than we need to.
Fear Not is a community-based art project that invites people from around the globe to counteract this by using simple, personal means to create a multimedia, anti-fear environment. It's based on research, even! Thankfully, it's also pretty fun. On this site you can see what some of our participants have been up to and (hint, hint) take part yourself.
